Dehradun, February 1 (HS): Uttarakhand’s men’s and women’s badminton teams have ensured two medals for the state by entering the finals of the 38th National Games 2025. With this historic achievement, Uttarakhand is making its mark as an emerging power in Indian badminton.
In a thrilling match played at the main location court 1 in Dehradun on Friday, Uttarakhand’s men’s team defeated Rajasthan 3-1 to make it to the finals. Chirag Sen, Chosen Joshi, Dhruv Rawat and Dhruv Negi played an important role in this victory. Rajasthan gave a tough fight, but ultimately the Uttarakhand team showed excellent game and won the match.
The women’s team also performed brilliantly and entered the title match by defeating Assam. During the match, Isharani Barua of Assam defeated Sneha Rajawat of Uttarakhand 21-10, 21-8, but after this Aditi Bhatt made a brilliant comeback and defeated Shantipriya Hazarika 16-21, 21-12, 21-13 to give Uttarakhand a decisive victory.
With this historic success, Uttarakhand is sure to get at least two silver medals, but the players of the state are ready to put in all their efforts for the gold medal.
