Delhi, 5 February (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj today. He will take a holy bath at the confluence of Ganga-Yamuna and Saraswati. The Prime Minister will also worship Maa Ganga on this occasion. This information was given by the Press and Information Office (PIB) of the Government of India in a press release issued on the eve of the Prime Minister’s visit to Prayagraj.
According to the PIB release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Sangam for a holy bath at around 11 am. The Maha Kumbh, which started on Paush Purnima (January 13), is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering. Devotees from all over the world are arriving to participate in it. The Maha Kumbh will continue till Mahashivratri on February 26.
According to the Press and Information Office, in line with his commitment to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continuously taken active steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites. Earlier, during his visit to Prayagraj on December 13, 2024, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 167 development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore, improving connectivity, amenities and services for the general public.
