In a brazen move aimed at undermining India’s security and development, China has reportedly created a new militant outfit, the United Tani Army (UTA), in Arunachal Pradesh. The objective? To disrupt India’s ambitious hydropower projects, particularly the Rs 1.13-lakh-crore Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP). This is yet another desperate attempt by Beijing to stall India’s progress while simultaneously setting the stage for a potential water war.
