Singapore/Guwahati, 11 February (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that he felt proud to meet Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
The Chief Minister said that in this meeting, special attention was given to the role of Assam in the India-Singapore strategic partnership. He said that memories of the President’s visit to Assam in 2022 were also refreshed.
He said that Singapore’s participation in the second edition of Advantage Assam was appreciated. The Chief Minister expressed commitment to strengthen cooperation with Singapore in the areas of semiconductors, green energy and advanced technologies.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister met key leaders of the semiconductor industry in Singapore and invited them to invest in the electronic city to be built in Jagiroad. He thanked the representatives of ASMPT, AEM, Besi, Temasek, Silicon Box, Nitto Denko Corp., Heller Industries and Mendhart Group who attended the meeting.
He said that efforts are being made to make Assam more dynamic through Advantage Assam 2.0.
