Sunday was a happy day for cricket lovers as Virat Kohli wowed the Dubai crowd, slamming his 51st ODI Ton, as India defeated Pakistan by six wickets. India chased down 242 with ease, doing it with 7.3 overs to spare, and have certainly sealed qualification to the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-finals.

Pakistan’s total of 241 proved to be too litte, with Kohli (100*), Shreyas Iyer (56) and Shubman Gill (46) leading the run chase. Kuldeep Yadav starred with figures of 3/40. Since the 2017 Champions Trophy final, India still remain undefeated in the ODI format against Pakistan with the record now reading 6-0 since that match.

The Pakistan team was trolled following their loss to India in the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday. Additionally, India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the end as the hosts of the tournament could face an early exit following massive losses in the first 2 matches. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first and, after a great start, things just fell apart.

Indian bowlers restricted the Pakistan batters as Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets and Hardik Pandya got 2 as the Men In Green were bundled out for 241 runs. Kohli put the finishing touches at the end as he scored his 51st hundred and the winning runs to get his side home by 6 wickets.

Sanjay Manjrekar was sharp with his assessment, saying that the match showed the growing gulf between India and Pakistan these days. “Every time we play Pakistan these days, we are reminded of the growth of Indian cricket and the decline of Pakistan cricket. Longer the format wider the gulf,” said Manjrekar.

Irfan Pathan said India are way ahead of Pakistan in ODI cricket in terms of skill, fitness and ability to prolong pressure. Banters a side, in one day cricket Indian team is wayyy ahead of Pakistan in terms of skill, fitness and ability to prolong pressure. Well done team India,” said Pathan.
