The body of Congress worker Himani Narwal was found inside a suitcase near the Sampla police station area in Rohtak on March 1. The discovery, made around 11 AM, came after commuters noticed a foul smell and alerted the police. Upon inspection, officers found a young woman, later identified as Narwal, with a scarf around her neck, suggesting strangulation.
Narwal, who had participated in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, was known for her active political involvement. Her tragic death has shocked party leaders, who are demanding a high-level, impartial investigation.
Police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, as officials work to uncover further details.
