Senior IAS officer Kakumanu Shiva Prasad (1993: PB) will join Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan as Director. He had served as Additional Chief Secretary to former Administrator of Chandigarh Banwari Lal Purohit but made an exit from premier service by taking VRS in February 2025. He will assume office on March 5, 2025. He will replace Ashok Pradhan (Retd IAS: 1967: AGMUT).
KS Prasad had sought premature retirement earlier also. During former Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh’s regime when he had put in his papers. He, however, reconsidered his decision after Amarinder Singh had asked him to do so. Now, he took VRS five years ahead of his retirement. His VRS was accepted, and he completed the notice period last week.
He has penned a book, “Gita Acharan–A Beginner’s Perspective,” on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and its application in modern-day life. The book has been translated into several languages. It is being debated whether he would join politics or look for a higher path in the spiritual quest.
