Maharashtra’s Fisheries Minister, Nitesh Rane, has launched a new certification called Malhar to register jhatka mutton shops across the state. He announced that these shops will be exclusively operated by Hindus.
MalharCertification.com is a platform to verify jhatka meat suppliers. Rane said this step will help Hindus access mutton shops that sell jhatka meat instead of halal meat, which is prepared differently.
The minister urged people to buy mutton only from shops with the Malhar certification. He stated, “Hindus should not buy mutton from shops without Malhar certification. Jai Shri Ram.”
The Malhar certification website describes itself as a certified platform for jhatka mutton and chicken vendors. It ensures that meat is sourced only from Hindu Khatik community vendors and follows Hindu religious traditions.
The website also claims that the meat is fresh, clean, and free from contamination. Rane hopes this initiative will encourage more people to choose certified jhatka meat vendors in Maharashtra.
