A passenger train carrying more than 400 people was hijacked by the Baloch Liberation Army in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Tuesday. The attack left the train driver injured, and over 100 passengers kept under hostages.
The Jaffar Express was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar when it came under fire. The BLA claimed responsibility and said they had captured Pakistani military personnel and other security officials.

The group stated that they had released women, children, and Baloch passengers while keeping security personnel hostage. They also claimed that six Pakistani soldiers were also killed in the attack.
Authorities have imposed emergency measures, and security forces have been sent to the area. The attack comes after Baloch groups recently announced an intensified campaign against Pakistan and China over their illegal mining of resources and development of the unauthorised Gwadar port project in the Balochistan province of Pakistan.
