A significant meeting in Manipur’s Churachandpur between Kuki-Zo representatives from several organisations and an MHA delegation headed by northeast advisor ended without any progress toward peace.
According to the media sources, ‘The Kuki-Zo leaders stood firm on their demands, as did the MHA representatives. No concrete decisions were reached, and the meeting was adjourned for future discussions.
The discussions involved Kuki-Zo council leaders and district representatives from Kangpokpi (COTU & KISH), Tengnoupal (KIT), Chandel (KICH), Pherzawl, and Jiribam (ITAC). Key issues included the Kangpokpi clash between security forces and Kuki-Zo demonstrators, demands for a separate administration, cessation of hostilities, free movement within the state, cessation of hostilities and several other district-specific issues.
