Following tensions violent communal clashes occurred in Nagpur on Monday night, police have identified the mastermind behind the violence that led to widespread communal violence.
On Wednesday, the Nagpur police named Faheem Khan as the key accused of the violent clashes that left many injured.
Faheem Khan has been linked to the Minority Democratic Party (MDP) and contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Nagpur constituency against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari , losing by a margin of over 6.5 lakh votes.
An FIR filed by the Nagpur Police accuses Khan of mobilizing around 100 people, which eventually led to communal clashes.
Faheem Khan can be seen confronting and raising slogans in front of the senior police inspector of Ganesh Peth, further fueling tensions, according to the Republic TV.
According to the media sources, the 38-year-old is the city president of the MDP and resides in Sanjay Bagh Colony in Nagpur’s Yashodhara Nagar.
The accused has been arrested by the Nagpur Police and will remain in Police custody till 21st March.
