A case has been registered against 25 Tollywood celebrities and influencers, including Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, and Nidhi Agarwal for alleged involvement in promoting online betting applications.
The case has been registered by Miyapur PS in Cyberabad Commiserate. They have been booked under 318(4),112,r/w 49 BNS,3,3(A),4 TSGA,66-D ITA.
The FIR was registered based on a petition filed by Phanindra Sarma, a 32-year-old businessman wherein he claimed that many celebrities and influencers encouraged people to invest in illegal betting applications through social media pop-up ads.
This has come following Panjagutta Police filed cases against 11 actors and influencers, including Vishnu Priya, Sudheer, Harsha Sai, Imran Khan and Kiran Goud on charges of allegedly promoting betting apps.
