The first Budget session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly under the BJP government will start today at 11 am and run until March 28, with the Budget presentation scheduled for March 25.
This marks a crucial financial policy change after 27 years. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will initiate the election of financial committees, vital for assembly governance, as outlined in the List of Business.
The five-day session will begin with a kheer ceremony and is expected to include the tabling of a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the Delhi Transport Corporation for 2024. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Gupta, who oversees finance, will introduce the BJP’s first budget.
n contrast to last year’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) budget of Rs 76,000 crore themed “Ram Rajya,” this year’s budget is titled ‘Viksit Delhi,’ promising a comprehensive development roadmap. Monday’s assembly will open with Question Hour, where ministers will address queries from MLAs, followed by the Special Mention segment under Rule 280, allowing legislators to discuss pressing local issues.
