All the allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have shown full support for the Waqf Bill. Important partners like Janata Dal (United) (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Apna Dal, and Shiv Sena have confirmed they back the bill.
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the opposition for protesting against the Waqf Amendment Bill. He asked, “People who are protesting, I want to ask them… has the Waqf board done anything for welfare?”
In an interview with Press Trust of India (PTI), the Chief Minister said, “Every good work faces opposition. The same is happening with the Waqf Amendment Bill.”
He further claimed that the Waqf Board is being misused for personal gain and that it has been used to illegally take government properties. He said that reforms are needed and that people are opposing necessary changes.
