In a recent statement released on Weverse, BigHit Music, the agency representing the globally popular group BTS, revealed the successful outcomes of their legal actions against individuals engaging in malicious activities targeting BTS members. The agency has been actively pursuing legal proceedings against various offenses, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, spreading false information, and ill-intentioned criticism.

The statement disclosed that criminal complaints were filed based on evidence provided by fans and collected through the agency’s monitoring efforts. BigHit Music emphasized their commitment to protecting the rights of their artists, especially in cases that threaten their safety and privacy.

One notable achievement highlighted in the statement was the criminal penalties imposed on an individual accused of violating the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking. Additionally, a person who repeatedly visited artists’ residences is under police investigation for alleged violations of the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking and Trespassing.

The agency also addressed the issue of an individual who impersonated a BTS member, leaked unreleased music, and committed other crimes of artist impersonation. Criminal charges have been filed, leading to the arrest and indictment of the impersonator, with the trial awaiting the court’s verdict.

Concerning malicious rumors with evident malicious intent towards BTS members, BigHit Music compiled numerous malicious postings involving false information and defamation and included them in the complaint. The agency emphasized a zero-tolerance policy and expressed their commitment to taking legal action, both civil and criminal, against rumors that undermine the artists’ reputations.

The statement also mentioned the identification of an individual who repeatedly posted false information and defamatory comments, with the agency rejecting settlement proposals and insisting on pursuing legal accountability to the fullest extent.

BigHit Music assured BTS ARMY, the devoted fanbase, that they would continue to collect information on malicious postings, report them to authorities, and take uninterrupted legal actions. The agency encouraged fans to use their legal affairs hotline (protect@bighitmusic.co.kr) to report any cases of abuse and expressed gratitude for the fans’ affection and dedication.

In conclusion, BigHit Music affirmed its ongoing commitment to ensuring the full protection of the rights of BTS members, even during their military service, and pledged to maintain strict measures and a policy of no settlement and no leniency to hold suspects accountable.
