On Sunday, the US Marshals Service in Philadelphia shared the news that they successfully caught 17-year-old Shane Pryor, who had escaped custody. Shane Pryor is a teenager suspected of murder. The capture marked the end of a five-day-long search for him.

According to a report from CBS News Philadelphia, the police successfully apprehended Shane Pryor without any issues at the intersection of 3rd Street and Roosevelt Boulevard. This news came after a period of intense search efforts to locate Pryor, who is a teenager suspected of being involved in a murder. The report didn’t mention any difficulties or resistance during the arrest, suggesting that the capture went smoothly.

At 6:30pm, @USMS_Philly and @PhillyPolice captured escapee Shane Pryor. In the same official statement released by the police, it was confirmed that Shane Pryor was being transported to the homicide cell. This means that he is being taken to a specific area within the police facility dedicated to handling cases related to homicide, which is a serious crime involving the unlawful killing of another person. The statement didn’t provide further details about the ongoing investigation or the circumstances surrounding Pryor’s escape and subsequent recapture.

@USMS_Philly is offering a reward up to $5,000 for info leading to escapee Shane Pryor's arrest. The reward will be processed immediately upon arrest and remain anonymous. The USMS_Philly X account, which was previously known as Twitter, posted pictures of Shane Pryor’s arrest, making sure that people in the community were informed about the situation. The photos were shared to keep the citizens updated on the progress of the investigation.

The post also gave more details about how the investigators managed to catch Pryor. It mentioned that they were keeping an eye on an area that the teenager frequented. During their surveillance, they noticed Pryor boarding a Septa bus. The US Marshals then took quick action by having the bus pulled over, and they successfully apprehended Pryor without any trouble. This means they were able to capture him smoothly and without any incidents during the bus stop.

Shane Pryor was in prison because he was accused of a serious crime. Authorities issued a warning, saying he was considered ‘dangerous.’ He is awaiting trial for the murder of Tanya Harris. Pryor allegedly shot Harris on October 10, 2020, after asking her for sex. Witnesses saw him running away from the scene with another guy.

Pryor had been in custody since 2020, meaning he had been held by the authorities since that year. The incident involved him shooting a woman, and it happened after he approached her for sex. He was seen leaving the area with another person. The warning about Pryor being dangerous suggests that the authorities believe he poses a significant risk, and he’s facing serious charges related to the murder of Tanya Harris.

Pryor had submitted a lie about the other man being an adult with age between 25-30. Though having affirmed his advances to Harris for sex, he pinned the blame for the murder on the other male suspect. The latter, who was also captured on the CCTV, was eventually found out to be a 14 or 15-year-old. Pryor, himself, has been in prison since he was 14 years old.

Shane Pryor managed to escape on a Wednesday. He got away while he was being taken to the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania for treatment of a hand injury while under police custody.

A post, which included CCTV footage, provided details about how Pryor escaped from the hospital. At 11:51 am, he successfully evaded the staff members escorting him and was discovered in the lobby of the Hub for Clinical Collaboration. There, he tried to get hold of a phone but was denied permission.

It’s suggested that he might have received help from someone outside, possibly a civilian. By 12:29 pm, investigators believed that he had assistance with transportation. Reportedly, Shane Pryor contacted an 18-year-old named Michael Diggs, who later picked him up. Even though Diggs’ car was pulled over at 6:38 pm, Pryor was not found with him during that stop. This information sheds light on the sequence of events leading to Pryor’s escape from the hospital.
