In a shocking incident on Wednesday night, a manhunt is underway in south London’s Clapham district after a suspect allegedly threw a corrosive substance on multiple victims, including a woman and two children, as reported by news agency. The London Metropolitan Police, in a statement, revealed that the suspect was observed fleeing the scene following the attack, with no arrests made at the moment.
According to the authorities, nine people were wounded in the assault, including three adults who came to the aid of the initial victims. Additionally, three responding police officers were hospitalized with minor injuries. Detective Superintendent Alexander Castle, in a statement, mentioned that the conditions of the injured are yet to be updated.
Detective Superintendent Castle informed the public that an investigation has been initiated, and ongoing tests are being conducted to identify the corrosive substance used in the attack. He stated, “We are drawing on resources from across the Met to apprehend this individual, and work is ongoing to determine what has led to this awful incident.”
