Israeli Ambassador to Bharat, Naor Gilon, extended his congratulations to Rao, recalling the significant milestone achieved during Rao’s tenure in 1992 when diplomatic ties between Bharat and Israel were established. Gilon emphasized the flourishing bilateral relationship between the two nations over the past three decades as a testament to Rao’s vision and leadership.
Likewise, Israeli Consul General to Midwest Bharat, Kobbi Shoshani, commended the decision to honor Rao, acknowledging his instrumental role in fostering full diplomatic relations between Israel and Bharat. Swaminathan, revered as the pioneer of Bharat’s Green Revolution, is celebrated for his groundbreaking work in agricultural science, which revolutionized Bharat’s farming practices and contributed significantly to its agricultural renaissance.
