In a recent statement, Bharat’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety of Bharatiya citizens across the globe. Jaishankar highlighted the unwavering support extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encapsulated in the concept of “Modi Ki Guarantee,” which extends beyond the borders of Bharat.
Addressing concerns over citizens facing crises abroad, Jaishankar emphasized the Bharatiya government’s reliability in providing assistance, citing instances such as evacuations from Ukraine, Israel, and Sudan. He assured that the assurance of Modi’s Bharat stands strong for Bharatiya abroad, whether they are expatriates, tourists, or students, promising support in times of need.
During a session in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, shed light on significant evacuation missions undertaken in recent years. Operations like Dev Shakti in 2021 and Ganga in 2022 saw the safe evacuation of thousands of Indians from conflict zones, including Afghanistan and Ukraine, respectively.
In 2023, Operation Kaveri facilitated the evacuation of over 4,000 individuals, while India also ensured the safe return of its citizens during the Israel-Hamas conflict. These operations underscore India’s commitment to safeguarding its nationals regardless of their location or circumstances.
Speaking at a press conference, Jaishankar reaffirmed Bharat’s stance on purchasing oil from Russia, despite international pressure. He attributed the stability in petrol prices to Bharat’s decision to procure oil from Moscow, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing Bharatiya consumers’ interests.
Jaishankar credited Prime Minister Modi’s decisive leadership for maintaining a clear position on purchasing Russian oil, despite external pressures. He highlighted the economic implications, stating that buying oil from alternative sources would have led to higher prices for consumers, illustrating the government’s commitment to economic stability and consumer welfare.
