In a report by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a prominent education services provider based in London, Bharat’s universities have demonstrated the highest performance improvement among G20 nations.
According to Nunzio Quacquarelli, the Founder-President of QS, Bharat’s universities have shown a significant 14% year-on-year improvement in their average ranking.
The QS World University Rankings, released on April 10, shed light on Bharat’s burgeoning presence on the global education stage. Quacquarelli highlighted Bharat’s remarkable progress, attributing it to the country’s rapidly expanding research output.
Over the span of 2017 to 2022, Bharat’s research output surged by an impressive 54%, solidifying its position as the world’s fourth-largest producer of research.
Quacquarelli also credited Bharat’s higher education advancements to visionary policies spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, notably the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasized the Prime Minister’s passionate commitment to revolutionizing Bharatiya education, as evidenced by ambitious targets outlined in the NEP.
The 2024 rankings covered over 1500 universities across 96 countries, with Bharat prominently featured in 44 out of the 55 QS Subject Rankings. India showcased standout performances in various fields including Computer Science, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Business Studies, and Physics, among others.
