The Korean Cultural Centre India, in partnership with LG Electronics India, is set to host the highly anticipated ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024’.

This annual event, now in its 14th year, has become a flagship project for the Korean Cultural Centre, showcasing the growing popularity of Korean culture in Bharat.

The contest, which has garnered immense participation over the years, serves as a platform for K-pop enthusiasts from all corners of Bharat to showcase their talents and passion for Korean music and dance.

Last year witnessed a record-breaking 11,071 teams participating, highlighting the widespread appeal of K-pop in the country.

Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, expressed his excitement about the event, stating that Bharat ranks high in preference for Korean cultural content abroad. He moreover shed light on the fact that the K-POP contest is the largest of its kind in Bharat and aims to bring together Bharatiyas who love the ‘Korean Wave’.

This year’s contest will feature not only the main event but also various participatory activities like ‘K-POP On Street’, aimed at creating a festive atmosphere where K-pop enthusiasts can come together and celebrate their shared love for Korean culture.

LG Electronics India, recognizing the success and popularity of the event, has announced its sole sponsorship of the ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024′.

Through this partnership, LG Electronics aims to promote Korean culture in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre, including the creation of a dedicated website for the contest and the operation of experience centers promoting LG Electronics products during regional competitions.

The contest is open to individuals or groups of Bharatiya citizens who are passionate about K-pop and can participate throughout the event’s duration. The initial preliminary round will take place online from May 17th to June 21st, 2024, where applicants’ videos will be judged based on various criteria including skill, expression, and stage presence.

Teams selected from the online preliminaries will proceed to compete in regional preliminaries held across 11 regions of Bharat from July 27th to September 1st. The winning team from each region will advance to the semifinals, scheduled to be held in Mumbai on October 19th, 2024.

The grand finale of the ‘All India K-POP Contest 2024’ will coincide with the Korea Industrial Exhibition (KoINDEX) at ‘Yashobhoomi’ in New Delhi on November 23rd.

This prestigious event will provide finalists with an opportunity to perform on a top-of-the-line stage system and also includes a chance to visit Korea.

Jeon Hong Ju, MD of LG Electronics, expressed his enthusiasm for the contest, emphasizing its importance and influence in providing youth with a platform to showcase their talents and find purpose in K-pop music and dance.

He also shed light on the planned series of events aimed at creating awareness for K-pop and encouraging young audiences to participate in the contest.
