Navjeet’s uncle recounted the tragic sequence of events, stating that Navjeet had accompanied a friend, another Bharatiya student, to retrieve belongings from his house. Upon hearing shouts and witnessing a scuffle, Navjeet courageously stepped in to defuse the situation, only to be met with a fatal stab wound to the chest.

Describing Navjeet as a brilliant student with a promising future, Yashvir expressed the family’s profound shock. Navjeet was set to reunite with his family in July for vacations, but his untimely demise has shattered their plans.
Navjeet had embarked on his journey to Australia one-and-a-half years ago on a study visa, with his father making significant sacrifices to support his education.
Yashvir revealed that Navjeet’s father, a farmer, had sold one-and-a-half acres of their land to finance his son’s education, emphasizing the family’s dedication to Navjeet’s future.
