In a gesture of solidarity and friendship, Bharat has extended a helping hand to Cuba by dispatching a consignment of approximately 90 tonnes of pharmaceutical ingredients. These ingredients, known as Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), were produced in Bharat and are vital components for the manufacturing of essential medicines. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the shipment, which departed from Gujarat’s Mundra Port on Sunday.
The significance of this aid lies in its potential to support Cuban drug manufacturers in producing crucial antibiotics. These medicines are indispensable for treating chronic communicable diseases and will be formulated into various dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, syrups, and injections.
