Ahead of the vote counting on June 4, the ECI has issued detailed instructions for poll officials on the procedures for counting votes from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), and Postal Ballots.
They emphasized that counting will not commence if there are pending orders for adjourned polls at any polling stations. If a re-poll is needed, the penultimate round of counting will only start after the re-polled EVMs and VVPATs are securely received in the counting hall.
