Born in Houston to Indian-American parents originally from Bengaluru, Subramanyam has a distinguished career in public service. He made history as the first Indian-American, South Asian, and Hindu elected to the Virginia General Assembly in 2019, followed by his election to the Virginia State Senate in 2023.
Prior to his political career, Subramanyam served as a technology policy advisor in the Obama administration, appointed for his expertise and dedication to public service.
