In a groundbreaking achievement, singer, rapper, and lyricist Karan Aujla has been announced as the latest addition to Apple Music’s Up Next program, making him the first Indian artist to be selected for this global initiative. The Up Next program is designed to identify and promote rising talent from around the world, offering them increased visibility and support.
Born Jaskaran Singh Aujla in Ghurala, Punjab, in 1997, Aujla moved to Vancouver in 2014 and began his career as a lyricist in 2016, writing for prominent Punjabi artists such as Jazzy B and Diljit Dosanjh.
He launched his solo career in 2018, collaborating with well-known rappers like YG and Badshah. His unique blend of R&B and hard-hitting hip-hop, along with clever metaphors and vivid imagery inspired by his Punjabi roots, has garnered him significant success.

Aujla’s streams on Apple Music have surged by 265% over the past two years, highlighting his growing influence. As the latest Up Next artist, Aujla will be the official playlist cover star and prominently featured in the coming months, further solidifying his status in the global music scene.
