Former GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy took the stage at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Tuesday night, delivering a passionate speech endorsing Donald Trump ahead of the November presidential election. Speaking to 2,400 delegates and hundreds of Trump supporters in Milwaukee, the Ohio-based Indian-American businessman highlighted Trump’s role in uniting the United States through tangible results rather than rhetoric.
The 38-year-old Republican addressed diverse American groups, urging black Americans, legal immigrants, and Gen Z to support conservative values and Trump’s vision. Ramaswamy emphasized that Trump’s presidency represents a return to fundamental American ideals of merit, rule of law, and effective governance.
“We’ll return you to your country of origin” stated Ramaswamy while highlighting the issue of illegal immigration in the US. He insisted that winning the election requires a positive vision rather than merely criticizing the opposition.
Ramaswamy’s address was part of a broader effort by Trump’s former primary rivals to show party unity. “The most important reason to root for Donald J. Trump: he is the President who will actually UNITE this country,” he added.
Social media users lauded Ramaswamy’s speech, calling it a “masterclass” and expressing support for his potential future in politics. Alongside Ramaswamy, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also publicly endorsed Trump, emphasizing the need for a unified Republican Party.
Trump, who appeared with a bandage on his ear from a recent assassination attempt, received a warm reception. With less than four months until the election, Trump’s campaign aims to consolidate support amid political and legal challenges. On Monday, Trump announced Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate, set to address the convention on Wednesday.
