Just a few weeks after a major global outage, Microsoft is dealing with another significant issue. This new problem has affected several of its popular services, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
In a statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Microsoft acknowledged the problem. They said they are “currently investigating access issues and degraded performance with multiple Microsoft 365 services and features.” This means that users are having trouble accessing and using these services as they normally would.
The previous outage was caused by a corrupt update from the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. However, this time, the disruption does not seem to be related to CrowdStrike. Instead, it appears to be linked to a problem with Microsoft’s network infrastructure. This issue has affected the communication between apps, users, devices, and the internet.
The new outage became apparent early Tuesday morning when many users started reporting problems with Outlook and other Microsoft apps on DownDetector, a website that tracks online service outages.
As Microsoft works to resolve these issues, many users around the world are experiencing disruptions in their work and communication. The company has not yet provided a timeline for when the services will be fully restored.
