Israel has carried out a military strike in Beirut, Lebanon, aimed at a Hezbollah commander. This attack was in response to a deadly incident in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the strike on social media, stating that “Hezbollah crossed the red line.” The Israeli military, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), claimed responsibility for the strike, asserting that the targeted commander was behind the murder of children in Majdal Shams and the deaths of numerous other Israeli civilians.

The IDF did not provide specific details on how the strike was conducted. However, Lebanon’s state news agency, NNA, reported that the attack was carried out by a drone, which fired three missiles.
Following the attack, Hezbollah-run Al Manar TV reported hearing a loud explosion in the southern suburbs of Beirut. This area is densely populated and is known to be a stronghold of Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group.
The incident marks a significant escalation in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with potential implications for the broader region.
