Air India has suspended all scheduled flight operations to and from Israel’s Tel Aviv with immediate effect until further notice because of the esacalating tensions in parts of the Middle East.
The airline took to X and posted, ‘In view of the current situation in parts of the Middle East, scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv are suspended with immediate effect until further notice. We are continuously monitoring the situation and are offering a full refund to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv. Safety of our guests and crew remains our topmost priority’.
Since the outbreak of war between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, the middle east has experienced escalating tensions. The ongoing conflict has claimed over 35,000 lives, with its political results extending to several neighboring countries, including Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan.
Earlier, the Pentagon has announced that the United States will be sending additional warships and fighter jets to the Middle East. This decision comes in response to recent events involving Israel and its regional adversaries, particularly Iran. The increased military presence is intended to strengthen Israel’s defense capabilities against potential threats from Iran and its allies.
