The Australian government has started work for holiday visa for Indians and Asian countries. This change has been made by the Australian government under the Migration Amendment Instrument. People of India will be able to go to Australia and earn money while celebrating holidays.
Notably, every year one thousand Indian youth between 18 to 30 years will get the benefit of this. The Australian Home Ministry said that there will be a lottery system for Indian citizens. Candidates will have to register by applying, after which it will be selected through lottery that which 1 thousand people will get a chance to go to Australia every year.
Indian passport holders can visit Australia and can also work while traveling there. They will have to fulfill some conditions. as Indian passport holders should know a little English and there should be adequate arrangements for the food and accommodation after reaching Australia. The health should be good and there should be no criminal record. The special thing is that applicants coming from India will not have to provide evidence of support from their government and the condition still remains for applicants from most countries.
There are about 75 lakh migrants in Australia, out of which about 8 lakh are Indians. These are both skilled labour and workers, which have been helping Australia’s economy. According to the Department of Home Affairs, more than 1 lakh people are living illegally there. In the year 2018, their number was around 60 thousand.
This decision shows the growing trade and friendship between India and Australia and this new category of the new visa program is a part of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement. Its aim is to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and exchange culture. The purpose is that Indian youth can go there and see the local traditions and culture closely and understand the international market.
