Arshdeep Dalla alias Arsh Dalla, a Separatist terrorist, was arrested in Canada’s Ontario. Notably, it’s a major development since Dalla, who has been on the run, is also a close aid of Separatist terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Dalla is a member of the Khalistan Tiger Force, a Sikh Separatist terror group.

Dalla is a terrorist designated by India and was close to slain terrorist Nijjar. As per the Union Home Ministry, Dalla runs terror modules and has also been involved in several crimes such as murder, extortion and targeted killings, besides being part of larger conspiracies hatched by terror groups.

His name has cropped up several times in investigations being conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). During the investigation, it was learnt that Dalla also played an active role in terror funding and cross-border smuggling of arms and drugs on a very large scale. He has also been accused of widespread extortion, targeted killing, disturbing communal harmony and creating terror among the people of Punjab.

Dalla was designated as a terrorist in 2023. Before that, he was a small-time gangster in Mona, Punjab, before he fled to Canada in 2018. Dalla has also been a loggerhead with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Both these gangsters are involved in extortion rackets. Around two years back, there was a significant rise in the number of extortion calls made by Dalla.

In September this year, Dalla took responsibility for the murder of Congress leader Baljinder Singh Balli, who was killed at his residence at Mona, a stronghold of Dalla. Dalla is the second close aide of Nijjar to be arrested in Canada. On November 8, the Canadian police arrested a 35-year-old Brampton resident, Inderjeet Gosal, on charges of assault with a weapon during a violent demonstration at a Hindu Mandir in the city.

Gosal is the coordinator of the Sikhs for Justice in Canada. The Sikhs for Justice is US-based and is headed by terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Following the death of Nijjar, Gosal replaced him as the Canada’s head. Nijjar was shot dead in British Columbia in June 2023.
