Elon Musk is interested in everything which the newly elected US President, Donald Trump , does. Dubbed the “First Buddy,” the billionaire entrepreneur has become a presence in Trump’s circle, participating in critical conversations and influencing decisions. In a recent instance, Musk was reportedly on a call with Google CEO Sundar Pichai as the latter congratulated Trump on his victory against Kamala Harris .
Earlier, Elon Musk had joined a discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy , highlighting his increasing role in global diplomatic exchanges under Trump’s leadership. According to the media reports, Trump was with Elon Musk at Mar-a-Lago when Zelensky called to congratulate the president-elect. Trump put the call on speaker then involved musk in the call.
During the conversation, Zelensky thanked Musk for supporting Ukraine by providing Starlink communications amidst the ongoing war with Russia. The call lasted around seven minutes and did not involve any policy discussions. Rarely leaving Trump’s side, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has also been advising on personnel decisions and policy matters, often sharing his opinions publicly through X, the social media platform he owns.
His active involvement even includes participating in calls with world leaders and playing a key role in shaping Trump’s transition into the presidency. Even before the election, Trump had revealed that he was in talks with other tech leaders, such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, about concerns over the European Union’s financial penalties on the iPhone maker.
Musk’s presence in Trump’s conversations with high-profile figures and his growing involvement in political discussions have raised eyebrows, further cementing his role as a close confidant to the president-elect. As Trump prepares to take office, Musk’s close association with him is making headlines, hinting at a partnership that merges technology, politics, and global strategy.
