Donald Trump, United States President has appointed right-wing radio commentator Dan Bongino as the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and will serve under newly confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel.
In a post on social media, the US President said that Bongino is “a man of incredible love and passion for our Country.” On Sunday in his announcement, Trump said Bongino is “willing and prepared to give up” the podcast “in order to serve” “Fairness, Justice, Law and Order will be brought back to America, and quickly,” said the President.
The 50-year-old Bongino in a post on X wrote, “Thank you Mr President, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel.”
This comes a few days following the new FBI director, Patel, was confirmed by the Senate last week to lead the law enforcement agency he has criticised. Democrats expressed concerns that he might target Donald Trump’s opponents but the former prosecutor has denied any intentions of pursuing political vendettas.
