Following the bilateral relationship between India and US, two nations have agreed upon the need for a trade pact, external Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated. Also, President Donald Trump is going towards a multifaceted policy that suits India’s interests.
The trajectory of the BRICS groups on the Russia-Ukraine conflict including India and further relations with China were among one of the major foreign policy issues discussed during a session titled as ‘India’s rise and role in the world’ at the Chatham House, London.
Responding to a question asked on the new US government and specifically about Trump’s reciprocal tariffs, Jaishankar said “We see a president and an administration which, in our parlance, is moving towards multipolarity and this is something that suits India.”
