  • He compared Ambedkar and RSS founder Hedgewar, saying both worked for India's progress
  • Bhagwat said Ambedkar’s fight against inequality helped unite and uplift the entire society

Kanpur – Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday praised Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his lifelong work to remove social inequality. He said that Ambedkar’s efforts played a big role in awakening Hindu society at a time when people were not ready to listen.

Ambedkar and RSS Both Catalysts of Change

Speaking at the inauguration of a new Sangh Bhawan in Kanpur, which has been named after RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Bhagwat compared the roles of Ambedkar and RSS. He said that both acted like catalysts, people or groups that bring change. “If RSS is seen as the one who turned the key, then Ambedkar was the force that gave a strong push,” Bhagwat said, explaining that Ambedkar’s actions helped open the minds of people who were stuck in old thinking.

Bhagwat also spoke about the connection between Dr. Ambedkar and Dr. Hedgewar. Even though they came from different backgrounds and followed different paths, both had the same goal: to improve society and make the country stronger. “They wanted to remove problems in society and make India rise. Both worked all their lives for progress,” he added.

Focus on Social Unity and Equality

The RSS chief highlighted that it is important for Hindu society to stay united and work together to remove any kind of inequality. He said that Ambedkar’s work in fighting caste discrimination was not just for Dalits but for the whole society. “Ambedkar tried to wake up Hindu society. His fight was for justice and equality, which benefits everyone,” Bhagwat said.

The Sangh Bhawan that was opened in Kanpur will serve as a center for RSS activities. It is named after Dr. Hedgewar to remember his contribution in starting the RSS and working for national unity. The event was attended by many Sangh members and supporters, and Bhagwat’s speech was seen as an effort to bring Ambedkar’s vision closer to RSS ideology.

By praising Dr. Ambedkar, Bhagwat sent a message that the Sangh respects all those who have worked for the country’s betterment, regardless of their differences. He said the nation will grow only when society stands together, without any discrimination or division.

This speech is being seen as a step towards showing unity and respect among different sections of society, and also as a recognition of Ambedkar’s legacy in building a just and equal India.
