Milkha Singh, born on November 20, 1929, in Punjab (undivided India), was India’s greatest sprinter, famously known as the “Flying Sikh.” He lost his family during the India-Pakistan partition but overcame immense hardships with his passion for sports. Milkha brought glory to India by winning gold medals at the 1958 Asian and Commonwealth Games.
