This Day in the History | Lala Lajpat Rai Earned the Title of ‘Lion of Punjab’

On January 28, 1865, the eminent freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai, born in the Firozpur district of Punjab, earned the titles “Lion of Punjab” and “Punjab Kesari.” On February 3, 1928, Lala Lajpat Rai sustained severe injuries during the British lathicharge while protesting the Simon Commission in Bharat.
