The day marks the 59th birthday of NASA astronaut Sunita Williams. Music label Saregama celebrated astronaut Sunita Williams’ 59th birthday with a social media tribute that featured Indian celebrities singing for her, seen in a heartwarming video posted on Instagram. The music company also invited fellow Indians to join in the celebration. Saregama, in collaboration with agency The Womb, brought together famous personalities such as Karan Johar, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Hariharan, and Neeti Mohan to honor Williams.

The video starts with Karan Johar offering a heartfelt message: “Meri taraf se a very special birthday wish to someone very very special, joh humse hai door, bohat bohat door (A very special birthday wish from me to someone very very special, who is far from us, very very far).”

Next, legendary singer Hariharan added, “On behalf of the entire country, we celebrate you and the amazing journey you are on.” The tribute then transitions into Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Neeti Mohan, and Hariharan performing the timeless classic “Baar Baar Din Yeh Aaye” from the 1967 film-Farz. The video concludes encouraging the viewers to sing along and celebrate, saying, “Come on India, aap bhi sing karo aur wish karo (Join in, India, sing and send your wishes too).”

The video went viral after being posted on Saregama’s Instagram, garnering over 36,000 views and a wave of likes and comments. One user commented, “So sweet … wishing her safe returns with good health,” while many others shared their birthday wishes for Sunita.

NASA astronaut Sunita Williams is celebrating her 59th birthday aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on September 19, her second birthday in space. Since June 6, she has been aboard the ISS with fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore, presently facing an extended stay due to technical issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft. Born on September 19, 1965, in Euclid, Ohio, to Indian-American neuroanatomist Deepak Pandya from Gujarat and Slovene-American Ursuline Bonnie Pandya, Williams continues to inspire people globally with her incredible journey.
