What unfolded in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on April 11th was not a protest—it was a barbaric, calculated pogrom. In the name of opposing the amended Waqf Act, radical Muslim mobs, fresh from Friday’s Jumma Namaz, turned the region into a war zone, committing unspeakable atrocities against the Hindu community. The horrors continued till the next day, leaving behind a trail of fire, blood, and broken lives.
Thousands of Hindus, fearing for their very existence, fled en masse—crossing the Ganga River on boats into Malda district, seeking refuge just to survive. The sheer savagery brought back chilling memories of the 2021 and 2023 post-poll violence, yet again proving that under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, law and order is non-existent for Hindus.
Voices from the Ground: A Tapestry of Horror
From shattered homes to looted livelihoods, victims narrated their torment to media outlets. Manju Bhagat, wife of a Hindu trader, told Aaj Tak, “They (Muslim mobs) tried to enter through the front gate. When they failed, they attempted to enter through the back.”

Narayan Saha, another victim, helplessly said, “My shop was closed, but they still looted it. There is no safety, no security here.”

Manoj Ghosh, speaking to ANI, said what many feared: “All Hindu homes and shops have been burnt, looted. That was their goal—loot and crush Hindus. The police arrived 4 hours late. We demand a permanent BSF camp here.”
“The police station is barely 200 metres away, but they didn’t come to rescue us,” another victim lamented.

Poisoned Water and Starving Infants
A horrifying claim emerged from a middle-aged Hindu woman—Muslims poisoned Hindu community water tanks. “We couldn’t drink the water. It was laced with poison,” she said.
In viral videos, Hindu mothers with infants as young as six days old were seen escaping Murshidabad. Their eyes told stories of terror, grief, and betrayal.

BJP leader Arjun Singh shared visuals of hundreds of Hindu families fleeing across the Ganga to Par Lalpur in Malda district. Elderly women sobbed, children clung to their mothers, and men mourned what they had lost.
“Only Hindu homes were burnt. Nothing happened to Muslim houses,” said a woman. Locals of Par Lalpur welcomed the victims and assured them of safety—a rare moment of compassion amid unending cruelty.
‘Modi Passed the Bill, So No Hindu Will Be Spared’
Bombs were hurled at Hindu homes. A woman quoted the attackers saying, “Modi passed the Bill. Now no Hindu will live here.”
Another added, “They talked of raping our mothers, took away gold ornaments, looted homes, and torched them all.”
The systematic nature of the attacks was terrifying. “Every Hindu house has been burnt. Children are starving, women are being threatened with weapons. Muslims are committing atrocities, and no one stops them.”
A devastated Hindu man who fled said, “They’ve committed every imaginable atrocity. Homes have been set ablaze. It feels like the horror has no end.” A woman behind him added, “Our houses have been burnt. We have nothing left.”
“They poured petrol on our house, held knives to our throats, poisoned our water tanks. Now we’re homeless, hungry, and terrified,” said another destitute woman to ABP Ananda.
One Hindu man returned to find his house turned to ashes. “I couldn’t save anything… Everything is gone,” he cried.
He pointed out that the attackers were not outsiders—they were local Muslims, who destroyed over 150 vehicles in a single night of rage. What unfolded in Murshidabad was not a riot. It was not a clash. It was an organized, targeted anti-Hindu pogrom—enabled by silence, inaction, and a shameful political agenda of appeasement. This is not just a failure of law and order—it’s a moral collapse under the TMC’s watch.
