Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian armed forces for successfully carrying out airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These strikes were part of Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians.
After the operation, PM Modi held a meeting with the Union Cabinet. During the meeting, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed everyone about the details of the operation. The entire Cabinet welcomed the bold action by the armed forces and praised PM Modi’s strong leadership by thumping their desks in approval.
PM Modi reportedly said that his government will not tolerate terrorism at any cost. He also had a separate meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to review the current situation.
The missile strikes targeted nine locations, including Jaish-e-Mohammad’s main base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s camp in Muridke. PM Modi had earlier given full freedom to the armed forces to decide how, when, and where to respond to the terror attack.
About Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was the name given to India’s precision military response, carried out by the Army, Navy, and Air Force together. The operation targeted and destroyed nine terror camps belonging to dangerous groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. These camps were located deep inside Pakistan and PoK.
The name “Sindoor” was chosen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Official sources confirmed that he picked this name to reflect the pain and loss of the women who became widows after the Pahalgam attack. “Sindoor” is a sacred red powder worn by Hindu married women, symbolising love, commitment, and the presence of a husband. After the attack, when women lost their husbands, this very symbol turned into a mark of grief, and now, a symbol of national strength and revenge.
Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tweeted on X (Formerly Twitter), “No nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched against it from land controlled by another country. India is justified in striking terrorist infrastructure. There can be no impunity for terrorists”.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Colonel Sophia Qureshi Lead Operation Sindoor Briefing
In an important moment after India’s precise missile strikes under Operation Sindoor, two respected women officers, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, led a press briefing. They spoke to the media and the nation to explain the details and purpose of the strikes carried out on terrorist targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
During the briefing, Colonel Sophia Qureshi showed video evidence of the successful strikes on terror camps in places like Muridke and other parts of Pakistan and PoJK. The footage, taken by surveillance drones and onboard targeting systems, confirmed direct hits on key terrorist camps linked to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh explained the goal and planning behind the operation. She said, “Operation Sindoor was carried out by the Indian Armed Forces to bring justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families. Nine terrorist camps were targeted and destroyed. The locations were carefully chosen to avoid any harm to civilians or civilian properties.”
