The Haryana government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has taken a major decision to accelerate urban expansion in Gurugram. The government has planned to purchase 17,358 acres of land from 36 revenue villages in the district to develop new sectors. The ambitious project aims to create fully planned residential and commercial areas with well-designed roads, modern utilities, public facilities and green buffers.

The Nayab government has set a target to develop a total of 1.7 lakh acres of land in 69 cities across the state. In the first phase, about 40,000 acres of land will be purchased in 13 cities through direct agreement, with Gurugram given priority.

To make the land purchase process transparent and simple, it has been made completely online. The e-Bhoomi portal (ehboomi.jamabandi.nic.in) has been authorized for this purpose. Landowners from the notified villages can submit details of their land on the portal, after which verification and further procedures will be carried out. Officials clarified that this is not traditional land acquisition but a voluntary land purchase process through direct agreement.

The villages included in the plan are Kherki Daula, Kadipur, Sihi, Harsuru, Basai, Gadoli, Gadoli Kalan, Gadoli Khurd, Behrampur, Ullawas, Kadarpur, Badshahpur, Tikli, Palra, Naurangpur, Medawas, Sikanderpur Bada, Lakhnoula, Nawada, Fatehpur, Wazirpur, Dhankot, Majra, Daulatabad, Mohammadpur Hedi, Babupur and Dorka, along with other villages, making a total of 36 villages.

According to officials, a detailed procurement map has also been released so that landowners can check whether their land falls within the notified area. If the plan succeeds, the scope of development in the city will expand significantly.

So far, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has developed 52 sectors in Gurugram, including 44 residential, 6 industrial and 2 institutional sectors. A total of 49,950 plots have already been developed and sold. The new plan is expected to give a major boost to Gurugram’s infrastructure and real estate sector.
