Japan Introduces E-Visa for Bharatiya Travelers: Step-by-Step Application Guide

Japan has introduced an electronic visa (e-Visa) program to simplify the process for tourists from various countries, including Bharat, to visit Japan for short-term tourism. This initiative aims to streamline visa applications for travelers holding ordinary passports who plan to enter Japan by air.

Eligibility for E-Visa

Citizens from specific countries and regions, such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, and the United States, among others, are eligible to apply for the e-Visa. Additionally, Bharatiya citizens and foreign nationals residing in Bharat can also avail themselves of this electronic visa option.

Application Process

To apply for the e-Visa, eligible individuals need to visit the official Japan e-Visa website. The application process involves several steps:

1. Verification of Necessary Visa and Documents: Applicants must ensure they have the required documents for their trip and select the appropriate visa category.

2. Application Information Entry: Next, applicants need to fill in the necessary information for the online visa application.

3. Notification of Examination Result: The results of the visa application will be communicated to the applicant via their registered email address.

4. Visa Fees Payment: Upon receiving notification, applicants are required to pay the visa fees to the designated Japanese overseas establishments.

5. E-Visa Issuance Procedure: Once the payment is made, the e-Visa will be issued to the applicant.

Additional Steps

During the application process, some individuals may be asked to appear in person at the Japanese overseas establishment that handles visa applications for their place of residence. This may involve an interview as part of the process.

This e-Visa program is designed to facilitate easier access to Japan for tourists, making the visa application process more convenient and efficient for eligible travelers.
