The health of nearly 2.8 lakh schoolchildren in Karnataka has been put at risk after worms were found in rice meant for the mid-day meal. A similar case was earlier reported from Muddenahalli in Kushtagi taluk.

Angry parents questioned the supply of poor-quality food grains and staged protests, demanding an immediate inspection of cooked meals in all schools across the district. Officials have assured a detailed investigation and strict action against those responsible.

Delhi Terror Blast: NIA Court Declares Absconding Dr Muzaffar Ahmed a Proclaimed Offender

In the Delhi Red Fort terror blast case, the main accused, Dr Muzaffar Ahmed Rather, who has been absconding, has been declared a proclaimed offender by the NIA Court in Srinagar. Muzaffar Rather is accused of plotting the car blast that took place on November 10 and is described as a key member of a white-collar terror module.

The court issued the order under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the notice was pasted at his residence on Saturday. The court has directed Muzaffar to appear before it on January 28, 2026, and respond to the complaint. His brother, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, has already been arrested, while Muzaffar is suspected to be hiding in Afghanistan.

LeT Building ‘Dual-Use’ Terror Centre in PoJK, Intelligence Agencies on High Alert

Intelligence agencies have revealed that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is constructing a new “dual-use” centre in Sharda, located in the Neelum district of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The centre includes the Jamia Masjid Ibn Taymiyyah and a Markaz, and can be used for both religious activities and terrorist operations, including training and recruitment.

LeT’s deputy chief, Rizwan Hanif, visited the Neelum Valley to inspect the construction work. According to media reports, intelligence agencies are closely monitoring similar large centres being built in four other areas of PoJK—Dhirkot, Bagh-Khaigala, Rawalakot-Palandari, and Sudhanoti-Sharda, along with the Neelum Valley.

In a shocking crime echoing earlier live-in murder cases, Bilal has been arrested for the brutal killing of his hindu live-in partner, Uma, in Yamunanagar, Haryana. Police said Uma was pressuring Bilal to marry her. On December 6, he took her to a secluded forest area on the pretext of an outing. There, Bilal first strangled Uma using a seat belt and then slit her throat, separating her head from her body. He dumped the body parts in the forest and fled. The remains were found the next day and identified during investigation. Bilal was arrested on December 14 and later confessed to the crime.

A video of a Hindu woman is going viral on social media, in which she narrates the abuse and death threats given by a Muslim youth. The victim said that the man beat her so brutally that her face has swollen, and she is no longer in a condition to even stand.

In the video, the victim said, “I was married. A Muslim boy entered my life. He brainwashed me. He separated me from my home, my family and my children, and left me with no dignity to show my face anywhere. He beat me repeatedly until my entire face swelled up. I have not eaten anything for the last two days. He says that he will kill me and pack my body into a briefcase.”

The victim has appealed to people for help. According to media reports, the Bijnor police have taken cognizance of the video. The victim has registered a case in Noida and has also submitted a written complaint to the Bijnor police.

Canada: Two Punjabi youths shot dead by unidentified assailants in Edmonton; police suspect a targeted killing

In Edmonton, Canada, on December 12, two youths from Punjab—Gurdeep Singh and Ranbir Singh—were shot dead. Both had come to Canada in search of better career opportunities. According to the police, the two were on their way to a friend’s birthday party when unidentified attackers opened fire on them.

The police said the attack appears to be a targeted killing and that they are searching for a dark-coloured SUV that was seen in the area at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and police have asked local residents to help by sharing any suspicious video footage or dashcam recordings.

“India has never allowed its territory to be used against Bangladesh”: India’s firm response to allegations by the Muhammad Yunus government

India has officially rejected the allegations made by Bangladesh’s Muhammad Yunus government. Responding to a recent press note issued by Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs clarified that India has never allowed its land to be used for any activities against Bangladesh’s interests.

The statement came after Bangladesh summoned the Indian High Commission over objections to remarks made by Sheikh Hasina. Reiterating its support for the democratic process in Bangladesh, India said that free, fair, and credible elections should be held in a peaceful environment. India also urged Bangladesh to maintain law and order.

It may be noted that Bangladesh has alleged that Sheikh Hasina is attempting to incite violence while staying abroad.

Mastermind of the Delhi terror blast, Dr. Muzaffar Rathar, fled to Afghanistan in August; he had plotted the biggest terror attack in the country since 1993

Intelligence agencies have revealed that Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed Rathar, a pediatrician and the mastermind behind the Delhi Red Fort terror blast, escaped to Afghanistan in August. He is accused of planning the largest terror attack in India since 1993.

He was primarily responsible for sharing IED-making techniques between jihadists in Afghanistan and Kashmir. Muzaffar is the elder brother of Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rathar, the module commander arrested from Saharanpur, from whom a Kalashnikov rifle was recovered.

Agencies believe that Muzaffar’s escape indicated that an attack involving several thousand kilograms of explosives was in its final stage, which was prevented based on intelligence inputs.

According to agencies, Muzaffar, Professor Muzammil Gani, and Umar-un-Nabi attempted to travel to Afghanistan via Turkey in March 2022 to receive military training, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Three-Nation Foreign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed from Delhi on Monday for a three-nation foreign tour.

The tour includes Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman.

First stop is Jordan (Dec 15–16) at the invitation of King Abdullah II.

PM Modi will review India–Jordan ties and discuss regional developments.

The Jordan visit marks 75 years of India–Jordan diplomatic relations.

He will also meet the Indian community in Jordan.

Second leg is Ethiopia (Dec 16–17), PM Modi’s first visit to the country.

He will hold talks with PM Abiy Ahmed and address Ethiopia’s Parliament.

Ethiopia visit highlights India’s role in the Global South and African Union ties.

Final stop is Oman (Dec 17–18) to strengthen strategic, trade and diaspora relations.
