Pakistan Army Violates Ceasefire in Poonch, Indian Forces Retaliate Strongly – Tension Escalates Along LoC
  • Pakistan Army crossed into Indian territory in Poonch and opened fire, violating the ceasefire.
  • Indian Army responded firmly, controlling the situation and monitoring the LoC closely.
  • Despite a recent flag meeting for peace, Pakistan continues to break the 2021 agreement.

Poonch: The Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement by crossing into Indian territory and opening fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said on Wednesday.

According to the statement, a mine blast took place in the Krishna Ghati Sector on April 1 due to the intrusion by the Pakistan Army. This was followed by an unprovoked firing. The Indian Army responded strongly in a controlled manner. The situation is now under control and being closely monitored.

The Indian Army has emphasized the importance of maintaining the 2021 agreement between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGsMO) to ensure peace along the LoC.

Last month, India and Pakistan had held a flag meeting in Poonch to reduce tensions after multiple ceasefire violations and an IED attack. Both sides had agreed to maintain peace, but Pakistan has once again broken the agreement.
