Hindu Women Tell Ordeal, Confirm Rape Of Hindu Women In Bangladesh

After the resignation of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the situation in the country is worse as the anti-government protests in Bangladesh have led to anti-Hindu violence.

The removal of Sheikh Hasina from office has led to various instances of looting, vandalism, and setting fire the Hindu homes that have come to light. Hindus have been targeted and the violence has led to the devastation of several Hindu Temples in the country.

Hindu temples have been targeted in Natore, Dhamrai in Dhaka, Kalapara in Patuakhali, Shariatpur, and Faridpur, houses in Jessore, Noakhali, Meherpur, Chandpur, and Khulna. Dinajpur witnessed the vandalisation of 40 Hindu shops.

In the latest many women in Bangladesh are sharing their stories of horror at the hands of the rampaging Islamist mob. In one of the shared videos by Hindu voice on August 8, many Hindu women living in different areas of the Pirojpur district in Bangladesh can be heard telling their stories.

One Hindu woman victim said, ‘They came with swords and sharp weapons and took everything. We give them everything as we had to save our daughters’. Another Hindu woman narrated, ‘They came at night and vandalised our homes and looted everything. We were hiding and they grabbed my brother-in-law’s wife and took her to another room. They raped her. We recovered her later and her face was tied with clothes. They wanted to cut her throat. We gave them all the gold ornaments to save her’.

‘At night they came and we were sleeping. They were armed and warned us saying, ‘Fifty of us have surrounded your house and there is no way you can escape. They looted everything and grabbed me and took me to bed. They threatened me with murder. I requested them to either spare me or kill me. They kept threatening me not to cry. They asked me to give away whatever valuables we had and I gave them all my ornaments, so they left me’.

On the other hand, Islamists killed and tortured the minority Hindus in the country and looted their properties. One such devastating story is of Bangladeshi singer Rahul Ananda whose house was looted and burnt down by an Islamist mob.

Hindus also said that they are unable to move to safer places because the Jamaat-e-Islami groups and other Islamists are roaming the streets with guns. It came to light on the 5th August that Jihadis attacked Hindus houses, shops and temples in Bangladesh in the guise of protests against the Sheikh Hasina government.

The ISKCON temple and many other temples were attacked, with multiple Hindu homes and shops looted and burned. Two Hindu girls were kidnapped. Many incidents of violence included attacks on homes, shops, and temples, resulting in property damage and the kidnapping of a Hindu woman.

Several Hindu temples, homes, and shops in the capital faced attacks and looting, with the Khilgaon Nandipara Kali Temple being a significant target.
