In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, the administration carried out a major action against encroachment and demolished 22 illegal houses built on Gopal Toriya Road. This main road, which was 22 feet wide during the princely era, had shrunk to just 2 feet due to illegal constructions, completely blocking movement for the public.

During the operation, the encroachers protested and cited the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. However, SDM Akhil Rathore clarified that despite repeated notices issued since April, the encroachments were not removed. The administration stated clearly that, in public interest, access roads to historical sites will be kept free from encroachment under all circumstances.

India Summons Bangladesh High Commissioner Over Security Concerns in Dhaka, Raises Objection to ‘False Narrative’

The Government of India on Wednesday summoned Bangladesh High Commissioner Riaz Hamidullah to the Ministry of External Affairs and expressed serious concern over the deteriorating security situation in Bangladesh. India clearly conveyed its strong displeasure over extremist activities near the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and firmly rejected the ‘false narrative’ being spread against India by the interim government there. In view of the security concerns, the Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka was also closed from 2 pm on Wednesday.

The Ministry of External Affairs said it was unfortunate that the interim government neither conducted a thorough investigation into the recent incidents nor shared any credible evidence with India. India reminded the interim government of its diplomatic responsibilities, stressing the need to ensure the safety of diplomatic missions and to maintain peace and stability in the region. It may be noted that on Tuesday (December 16), Bangladesh National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Hasnat Abdullah had threatened to isolate India’s northeastern states.

Police have arrested five sharpshooters working for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the Arju–Anmol Bishnoi group, and the Harry Boxer syndicate. Among the five arrested accused, two shooters Piyush Piplani and Ankush were the main accused in three major murder cases of 2025: the killing of Inderpreet Singh Parry in Chandigarh, kabaddi player Sonu Nolta in Pinjore, and Ashu Mahajan in Amritsar. All five accused were wanted in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.

The investigation revealed that the accused carried out these sensational crimes by providing logistical support and conducting reconnaissance. The Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for Parry’s murder, calling him a “traitor.” Police are now conducting raids to trace and arrest the absconding members of the network.

“Papa, I am reaching home soon,” were the last words spoken by 25-year-old Dalit Hindu woman Jyoti to her father. Soon after this call, her mobile phone was switched off and she never returned home. The incident took place in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh on December 16. Furqan, along with his associate, picked up Jyoti from her house by promising her a job interview. The next day, Jyoti’s body was found in nearby bushes. Police confirmed that she was strangled to death and her body was dumped to hide the crime. During a police operation, accused Furqan was caught in an encounter with a firearm and Jyoti’s mobile phone recovered from him. Constable Gyan Prakash was injured during the encounter.

Suspicious, the victim investigated Rustam and discovered that he was already married and a father of three. She stopped communicating with him, but Rustam continued and circulated her obscene videos on social media.

With the help of the victim, the Jakkanpur police set a trap and caught Rustam red-handed at a bus stand. He has been booked under fraud and the IT Act, and legal proceedings are underway.

In Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, the police have arrested two cunning members of an Iranian gang, Ayaan and Qasim, who carried out a daylight robbery while pretending to be police officers. According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), following this sensational robbery, the police investigated across 15 districts and examined over 500 CCTV footages. It is believed that this gang has committed similar crimes in other districts, including Sehore, and they are being interrogated during remand. Notably, the merchant had announced a reward of ₹51,000 for information leading to the arrest of these daring robbers.

Shamli Triple Murder: Farooq Kills Wife Tahira and Daughters Afreen, Sahreen Over Burqa Dispute, Buries Bodies in Courtyard

A brutal triple murder has been uncovered in Gadhi Daulat village of Shamli district. Police said Farooq killed his wife Tahira and their two minor daughters, Afreen (16) and Sahreen (14), over repeated disputes related to wearing a burqa. During police questioning, Farooq confessed that he shot Tahira and Afreen with an illegal pistol and strangled Sahreen. He then buried all three bodies in a septic tank dug in the courtyard of his house.

The woman and girls had been missing for nearly ten days, prompting Farooq’s father to alert police. Following Farooq’s confession, police excavated the courtyard and recovered the bodies. Senior police officials confirmed Farooq’s arrest and said further legal action is in progress.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) carried out simultaneous raids and search operations on December 16 across seven districts of the Valley, including Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Pulwama, Kupwara, Budgam, and Shopian. During the operation, 12 suspects were taken into custody.

Investigations revealed that these individuals were running anti‑India activities under the cover of media, social media, and human rights organizations. Solid evidence was recovered showing their contact with terrorist handlers based in Pakistan.

The CIK aims to dismantle this network spreading instability, and officials have indicated that further arrests may follow. This action was conducted under a case registered in 2023, involving provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused were reportedly trying to promote terrorism through social media and incite ordinary citizens to support terrorist activities.

Bihar: Samir Ansari Arrested for Raping 8-Year-Old Girl in Vaishali

In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Vaishali district, Samir Ansari has been arrested for raping an eight-year-old girl from his own village. Police said the incident occurred on December 10 when the child was alone at home. The accused reportedly entered the house and assaulted her.
